Abert® was conceived in 1929 in Lumezzane, in the province of Brescia, Italy, when the founder Antonio Bertoli started the artisan production of brass cutlery. In 1950 steel entered the production cycles steadily, taking the place of any other material. Production automation came in the 1960s and in 1975 Abert was the first company in the world to engineer the production processes of colored cutlery with the combination of materials such as ABS, nylon and wood.
